Van Wyck

What’s the traffice like on these New York Highways/Bridge?
I might obtain a job in upstate NY. I live one block from the Van Wyck and I know it’s packed in traffic in the morning heading North, so I’d like to know how far does it go? This job would require me to take the Van Wyck to the Whitestone bridge. Are these busy commutes? Any alternatives?
very bad commute, you might consider moving.

Dick Tracy [VHS] $1.85 A flawed but stylish adaptation of the Chester Gould comic strip by director Warren Beatty, who also stars in the title role. Murphy’s Romance [VHS] $5.95 Director Martin Ritt (Norma Rae) helmed this offbeat romance that earned costar James Garner an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of a widowed druggist who befriends a confused divorcee (Sally Field) and her son, who move to a small rural town to start over. The laid-back performance of Garner as a man finding love “for the last time in his life” contrasts wonderfully with Field’s portrayal of a … |

Lemony Snicket’s a Series of Unfortunate Events (Widescreen Edition) $4.49 If you spliced Charles Addams, Dr. Seuss, Charles Dickens, Edward Gorey, and Roald Dahl into a Tim Burtonesque landscape, you’d surely come up with something like Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. Many critics (in mostly mixed reviews) wondered why Burton didn’t direct this comically morbid adaptation of the first three books in the popular series by Daniel Handler (a.k.a. “Lemony S… |
