How can you Make Your own colored paper?
Without using: markers, crayons, colored pencils… because it takes a really long time to color both sides of a piece of paper, the colors will run out easily, and the final coloring isn’t exactly even.
And without using watercolor or acrylic paints because the paper will be wrinkled after the paint dries.
So what other better ways are there to make your own colored paper?
jo j : For Your Information colored paper is not easily available where I live and I’ve searched all the stationaries and bookstores around me and I can’t find any (except those thick large colored sheets that are used for posters, or large packs of the same color paper used for photocopying). And I want to make the paper thin enough because I want to use it for origami.
So if you do have any instructions or links on how to dye paper, your help would be appreciated.
Sorry if I offend you Bongahead (cute name by the way LOOL) I feel bad now =/. But yeah I was just joking… but yes you can always mix in dyes in water and then soak the sheet until full saturation then press dry. Just follow that and it should come out well. The reason why you press dry is because you dont want the sheets of paper to come out rigid, when you press dry you retain enough moisture in the sheets leaving them malleable still.
As for using them for origami…i’ve actually grown up making origami figures so I know for a fact that unless you dampen those sheets of paper before folding them, regular white sheets of paper will not be as versatile as authentic origami paper…but here I found you a link to some very cheap origami paper you can order through the net.
