How do you repair, or cover up, scratches on soft leather shoes?

I recently scratched up the tops of my soft leather hiking boots. The scratches look unsightly, and give the appearance the shoes are always dirty.

Get a good leather shoe polish. Kiwi makes a good one. You just buff and polish and it’s like magic!
